This is one of those meals that can be adapted to your own taste and this is how I like it.
500 grams lean pork mince
A small Bramley apple
Four small or two large carrots
Two teaspoons of dried rubbed sage or two tablespoons of chopped fresh sage
Salt and pepper to taste
Fry the pork mince in a medium sized sauce pan just under a medium heat. I don’t use any oil or fat. I add the onion and the apple and let both soften before rubbing the sage into the pan. Add the salt and pepper at this point. Chuck in the carrots and stir them into the mix and then add just enough hot water to bind it all together. I use a chicken stock if I have some around.
Cook for about half an hour.
Make into a pie with pastry, potato or whatever you choose. Adapt to follow your own tastes.
