Ursula’s even more special cheese and lentil savoury

500 grams of washed lentils and enough water to cover them
1/2 low salt veggie stock cube
2 medium onions peeled and chopped
Tin chopped tomatoes
6 shredded wheat …Yes really!
200 – 250 grams (I can’t tell, the 350 gram packet was already open and there’s still some left) of extra mature cheddar cheese.

Gently cook the lentils for a bit whilst you catch up on Twitter depending on how busy it’s been.

After a while chop the onions and fry them in some good quality olive oil because the bottles are nicer.

Add the tin of tomatoes when the lentils are half cooked.

Scrunch three of the shredded wheat and add to the pot.

Throw the fried onions in the pan and give it a stir.

Respond to Twitter alerts.

Grate 2/3 of the cheese and add it to the pot stirring nicely.

Scrunch the rest of the Shredded Wheat and leave it to one side.

Pop it all in an oven proof dish.

Sprinkle the remaining Shredded Wheat on top followed by the cheese.

Put in the oven on a medium heat for about 20 minutes.

Put some veg in a pan and check Twitter while it’s all cooking.

Serve it up and wallow in the glory.
